This. I grew up in the suburbs, not ritzy, but definitely suburban Atlanta. I neither get, nor like that movie except that it pretty much stereotypes your typical Bama Gump.

Kingpin has to be the most underrated comedy. An absolute masterpiece.
Also, an amazing comedy that many haven't even heard of is Love Stinks
