Come on, man...you're not that stupid.

"Duties kept him on board while two colleagues went on a crater-strewn walk."

"Duties" didn't keep him on board...it was the fact that he was orbiting high above the moon in the command module.

How was it possibly put on the moon by an alumnus when he would have had to jump out of his ship to do it?
