Over 3 hours, and that was just discussion of the amendments. I guess maybe another 3 hours for the actual ordinance.

Amendments 1 & 2 passed. Now discussing Amendment 3, which would send it to public referendum.

Yep, they are going to make a decision tonight it appears.....after another three hours of public comment I suppose.

Amendment 3 fails, 6-2. They are going to vote to pass this thing tonight y'all.

No vote. only 2 aldermen supporting taking it to a vote.
The unicorn on the wall at Ron's flies gloriously tonight.

No way this doesn't pass. Note that mayor Jordan is wearing a red tie.
I see definite YES votes from:
Marsh
Petty
Long
Kinion
Jordan is the tiebreaker if it came down to it. If he is called to vote, he will vote YES. Its as good as passed.
Tennant and Shoppmeyer will probably vote against it.

Mayor: "I'm sure you do"'
guy proceeds to explain his pie chart on employment #'s regarding % of jobs federally protected and continues to show more pie charts...

I'm pretty sure he said in the past meeting that he moved to NWA because he thought it was libertarian. Well, it is. But in Fayetteville, that is mixed with a heavy dose of liberalism.

Y'all..
This is only a matter of time before it's approached on the Federal level.
I discussed hiring discrimination, in it's current state, benefits and or consequences in entirety during a lengthy presentation in one of my MBA law classes taught by a Columbia law professor/former NYC attorney. This is a pretty complex issue and when written bad it makes for a harder clarification if the law is worse than the proposed acts.
It's perhaps the only reason I am listening at the moment.

I have a question..
Is anyone on this council LBGT?
I do however dislike criminal action involved with this ordnance which does effect peoples lives. Furthermore, being socially attached to a administrative person who was opened by a disgruntled employee can certainly cause problems.

Yes, one of the male council members is openly gay, and the mayor's chief of staff Marr is openly gay.
There might be more, but that's all I'm aware of.

some one needs to reminds Mrs. Duggar that on odds alone she has at least 1 gay child. that should change her bigoted attitude.
