COming in from Houston. Best way to go if driving? Best airport/airline.

I know im kinda late to planning this but plane tickets to Memphis are about $600 roundtrip.

We have a group of four so not above driving. But wanted to see if there is any advice on traveling there.

If we drive we will likely leave thursday afternoon. at the moment we are planning on going through Baton ROuge.

The most important bit of information I can tell you is that the bars close real early. Plan accordingly.

I have always stayed in Tupelo for games at Ole Miss, not a bad drive on game day.

1. Look to rent a college kids condo. Lots of girls who live close to Oxford, rent their condos out for a decent price. Hotels will be booked up in Oxford already. If you don't stay in Oxford, stay in Batesville. It's a 20 minute drive...closest to Oxford.

2. Bars will close at 1 AM every night y'all are there. Library is the most popular bar. It'll be a $20 cover, but worth it on gamedays...if you don't mind a shite load of people. If you hate that type of atmosphere, bars like Boure, Burgundy Room, City Grocery will be good bars.

3. If you have all day Friday in Oxford, eat at Ajax for lunch. It's a must. It's on the Square. For dinner, you'll probably have to make reservations.

4. Parking and driving on gameday is going to suck. Get there decently early and go back to the Grove after the game. No reason to leave right after the game, you'll be sitting in your car for at least an hour before getting off campus...may as well spend it in the Grove.

5. If y'all don't have a tailgate, someone Ole Miss fans will take you in.

6. If an old man behind you says sit down during the game, follow these two rules:
-Do not sit down, unless he legit can't stand and/or you feel bad for standing.
-Do not go off on him in a drunken rage. He will get you kicked out.

Yeah, Memphis is one of the most expensive airports to fly in and out of in the country. It's been nice adding Frontier and Southwest since Delta cut a ton of flights.

Buy a pair of night vision goggles. Drive late at night with all your lights off. Go as fast as you want. Profit.
