Friends on the West Coast are calling me to say that PF's show, his callers primarily, are being mocked & ridiculed up & down the coast. The sterotype of SEC football fans as ignorant southern trailer trash is now the "brand" of the SEC thanks to ESPN & PF.

^^^^^^ fricking this right here. I've heard it as well.

People already think we're ignorant, self-absorbed southern trailer trash, and this seems to be the brand the SECN wants to sell. This conference deserves so much better. Did Slive have in mind Finebaum and his "workin' on my GED" callers to be the figurehead and representative of the outstanding student-athletes at these fine member institutions? I think not.

The Pac-12 Network seems so clean and professional and a respectable platform for an academic and athletic representation. The SECN should be the same. It should be a beacon. It is not in its current form. It perpetuates a stereotype and alienates.

Even the intro was just so self-absorbed. We don't have to shout as loud as we can how great we are. It's obvious on the field. It is repulsive to anyone outside who might be curious as what the conference is all about. You're not going to win viewers outside the South that way.

The Network needs an overhaul and it starts with Paul. I was afraid we might have made a deal with the devil with ESPN. They will sensationalize and squeeze every ounce of integrity out of the network for short term gain if they aren't put in check. Slive should have stipulated that Finebaum be no where near the SECN headquarters when he signed the deal.
