I predict that at the end of the season you can point to a stupid hitting call and say, "if that ref hadn't called that, we probably would have won that game."

I'll look if I have to, but are there any games that will keep this from being a night game? Hopefully it's an 11 or 2:30 game.

Doubtful.

LSU's first home SEC game, and both teams should be undefeated coming in.

Also, LSU's home schedule only has 3 big games (state, OM, bama)

Those two should be playin together inside with Woody Hamilton, Isaac Gross, Speaks and Herbert Moore behind them with Fadol, CJ, Haynes, Ward, Carlos Thompson and Elijah motherfricking Daniel off the edges... It was really close to happening.

LSU is going to be a night game.

Personally, I like it. Stack the deck against us as heavily as possible. Nothing to lose and everything to gain in that game. Manage to pull it out -- and we're the 3rd team that's beaten Les Miles there at night to go along with a Tebow UF and a national champ Al. Lose and it was totally expected.

Looking back at my response, I made it sound like it wouldn't be a night game-

I meant it will for sure be a night game, which I don't like

I want it to be as pressure-packed as possible honestly. I have more confidence on Dak to perform under those circumstances than I do Jennings or Harris -- who, it should be noted, would be starting their first big game in DV and also maybe their first under the lights there. Could easily see some serious nerves from them. Already have seen it before with Jennings in their bowl game. I would feel differently about the situation by week 5 or 6 after they had time to settle in.

Plus -- if we're going to lose to LSU either way, think I'd rather it be a situation they never lose in vs the alternative...

Sounds like you just want a built in excuse for if we lose.

I would much rather play LSU as early as possible. Obviously, that gives us the best chance to win.

I kind of agree with him. I don't want there to be any excuses, because I think we can beat them straight up this year.

Miles has lost 2 night games in Baton Rouge since he last lost a day game. Let's not act like there is a statistically relevant difference to playing them in the day vs at night. His last daytime loss in DV? OM 2008.

There is a big difference in the hype factor that is good for us both ways though. I think Dak and J-Rob can beat them down there at night -- and if they did, the next 2 weeks leading into aTm would be totally insane.

Night... day... meh.

LSU is good at home because they have a ton of talent. Top to bottom, they have more talent than we do, but fortunately, you can't put 85 players on the field at a time.

We will have more experience than LSU this year, and hopefully experience will trump talent + Death Valley. LSU's identity will probably be running the football. Our defense should be good enough this year to slow down a one-dimensional team. Our offense should be good enough to outscore a team that we slow down.

It is hard to predict things right now. We will know more in 2 weeks after we have seen both teams in action.

LSU doesn't lose often at home because they don't lose often period. Combine that with having most of your OOC games at home and you shouldn't lose many.

From the Tiger Rant:

Since 1960, LSU is 231-61-4 (.787) at night in Tiger Stadium compared to a 29-26-3 (.526) record during the day over that span. Since 2000, LSU is 65-6 in night games and head coach Les Miles is 40-2 in Saturday night games in Death Valley.

I'd say that's a statistically relevant difference.

A relevant difference from the Vaught era maybe.

In the last 5-10 years -- no difference.

There's no way LSU's day record is close, percentage wise, to 40-2.
