This one: LINK

I mean I get the trolling and the picking and the fun and all that ... but dadgummit, why would some of our own fans and some of our own people jump in there and imply that we are a racist state, bigoted, that we hold klan rallies on our statehouse grounds.

None of that is true men.

Obviously the main stream media has gotten to some of you, and maybe it was the liberal education ... I dunno. Times have changed since when I was at Carolina ... we learned and taught a lot of pride in our state back then. We were fighters. We knew the real history, not the muddied-up politically correct bullshite the fricking progressives have been teaching for the past few decades. We were liberal kids too ... but we weren't going to lie to ourselves about our history, and we weren't going to let anyone else lie to us either.

We changed more things for the better than any kid these days can imagine.

And we never ever let our politics and our religion mix into our sports. The state newspaper tried doing it when Lou was here.

The taterheads try doing it ... and it is the most hypocritical thing any group of fans could ever do in the history of the world. What Brad Scott did is probably going to get that fat fricker sent straight to hell when he kicks over from his fricking heart attack.

But since when did we start doing it to ourselves on sports boards?

I guess I don't get it. This just takes all the joy and fun out of it.

I guess everything truly is about politics these days. I guess we are just supposed to lay down for everything.

frick it.

Papa Scrooster is not happy with you guys.

FWIW the thread has been quite entertaining... CNB with the slightest of troll bait and its turned into quite the thread. Well done. I honestly do hope next year when yall come to College Station you at least stop by for a good 2 minutes of an actual midnight yell to understand that what was shown on the SECN is an embarrassment to the real deal.

I take it this is a response to the post that I made, so I'll reply here. The comment I made was relatively tongue-in-cheek, and I really don't like to get serious on TD, but I just want to address this since there has been all this talk about the SC Statehouse recently.

I took this picture the last time I was in Columbia.

I know that the national perception of racism in SC is both skewed and inaccurate, but this type of stuff does not help diminish those untruths. It is one thing to fly the Confederate flag at the Statehouse, but to have rallies/ceremonies where this is considered acceptable is just ridiculous. This isn't the 1960's. Now, I know it's not actually a Klan rally, but it certainly wouldn't be far fetched to believe that some of those who attend these types of things may be sympathetic to the cause. It quite literally makes it look like racism and bigotry influence our state's politics, which we all know is not the case. You can say it is a "pride in my heritage" type of deal, but this sort of First Amendment exercise brings a negative national perception to South Carolina. I've always loved the historical trend of SC defiance, but this shouldn't be something to be proud of. It makes us look like nothing more than uneducated and intolerant rednecks. I say that as a proud southerner.

To keep the Confederate flag flying at the Statehouse is one thing, but having this draped across the steps of the Statehouse for almost 4 days is overkill. We all know that the flag has different meanings for different people, but it is time we realize that it is largely regarded as a negative symbol, and to have it proudly displayed all over the center of our state's government is idiotic.

As for the Aggies having Yell Practice on the Statehouse grounds, I don't really care. Truth is, I've heard more opposition to the idea that a visiting school holds their gay little tradition on the Statehouse steps more than I ever did to things like Confederate rallies in the 5 years I lived in Columbia. I couldn't care less what some arrogant Texans think of us, but I do want our state to move past things like the photo above.

This isn't an attack on you, scrooster. It's just how I feel about the situation.

Yell practice is no big deal. Aggies will spend about an hour (or less) doing yells. We don't harm anything or anyone. We don't trash up the area and in fact you will probably find them cleaner after we leave than when we arrived. It has gone on for over 100 years. It'll be over quickly.

Admittedly we are an arrogant bunch but we are harmless. We will be in your state to have fun and watch (hopefully) a good football game.

South Carolina is a fine state and USC is a fine institution. If you dislike Clempson, then we do too. We are proud to be in the SEC but lets take some time to get to know each other.

But don't attempt anything stupid, like attempting to harm Reveille. That will not end well.

Peace and when we yell BTHO South Carolina, don't take it personally.
