Things were more dressed up. Usually you wore at least a white button down, khaki trousers, and street shoes. You cheered the team and did not have to wear the gear. Along came Nike and sold us on having to buy their crap if were a real fan. Couple that with the vagabond look taking over and it all went to hell.

Sounds like church. I like jerseys it keeps me from thinking about what to wear.
