Bielema spoke to the crowd to start the scrimmage and explained that video was prohibited. He said if anyone saw a person from Auburn with a video camera they should "knock the shite out of them."

It was 1s vs. 2s for the most part today.

I didn't notice a whole lot of 3 wide, J Corn worked well in the slot as did Drew Morgan. Corn has a knack for making one handed catches, other receivers try to emulate this, much to the chagrin of the coaches.

Allen had a good day, and the crowd erupted when he completed a bomb to Sprinkle early in the scrimmage. He was accurate for the most part, but he threw a few balls that were behind his receivers. I feel much better about our receivers this year compared to 2013, the overall effort level is night and day compared to last year.

Collins and Marshall split most of the first team carries. Denzell Evans got a ton of work today, but he was running against the first team D with the second team O line so he didn't have any big highlights. He gets tough yards though and isn't afraid of contact.

Josh Liddell is a play maker, he was all over the field breaking up passes but had two dropped interceptions. Coaches will probably work on his hands this week because he has an eye for the ball, just couldn't come down with it. One would have been a pick six, and he can't afford to miss that opportunity in a real game.

J Will did not participate today, just a precautionary measure. His hamstring should be good to go for Auburn. He dressed out but did not play.

Denver Kirkland was in street clothes.

Patrick Arinze is a good pass catching fullback but he has a tendency to fumble. Bielema jumped on his arse just for almost fumbling on one play today.

JoJo Robinson had the best touchdown of the day, after catching a pass he bobbed and weaved all over the field and somehow got to the end zone and dove in. Reminded me a lot of something Joe Adams would do. This was also against the first team D which made it even more impressive.

I'm off to dinner, will add more when I get back.

Good stuff Stone. Glad to see Sprinkle have a big day. He would provide a very nice wrinkle to our offense if he can be consistent.

The FB news is beyond frustrating. I wish someone would nail it. I see they were using Sprinkle some there today as well. That would be an interesting experiment.

What are your thoughts on the receivers as a whole after today?

So first the offense and defense both had bright spots. they both appeared to be clicking pretty good and were moving smooth. even my girlfriend the tennessee fan commented on how organized they were and said they appeared to already be hitting on all cylinders. I don't know about all cylinders, but they were well prepared. which bodes well for the auburn game. Stone had a better write up than I could of had because I didn't know who a lot of the players that made the plays were.

side note I got to the scrimmage 30 min late and didn't hear bielema's spill about not videoing anything. well I may or may not have took a short video with my phone before some lady behind told me I wasn't allowed to do that. good thing I wasn't wearing an auburn shirt...

glad you said who the guy was that made the one handed catch. saw him make the catch right as I got to the scrimmage. didn't know who it was but it was a play I wouldn't have seen from our receivers last year. pretty impressive, even though it was out of bounds.

yup Allen looked real good except for the occasional throw behind the receiver. that was a pretty throw and catch to sprinkle. right over sprinkles shoulder on the sideline. he made the catch right in front of where I was sitting.

the receivers caught the ball real well. I was impressed with their hands. like you said I feel much better about them compared to last year.

collins had some nice moves getting yards after contact. I could tell the added mass he put on allowed him to take more of a beating while running the ball and break some tackles.

didn't know that was liddell that almost had those two picks. those were the only times I saw where a DB had a chance to intercept a pass.

was wondering why he wasn't playing

that was really impressive. didn't realize it was jojo though. you hit the nail on the head with the joe adams comparison. he had a nasty move to make the first guy miss, break the guys ankles type move. then bobbed and weaved before diving into the endzone. he's going to be a special player

that play by jojo, corn's one handed catch, liddels two near interceptions, sprinkles catch over his shoulder, and korliss's long run at the end tells me we have playmakers. something we were sorely missing last year. aside from the playmakers on the field, the teams ability to already appear well prepared and running smoothly impressed me the most. I'm now looking forward to the season even more than I was WPS
