Very, very good read IMHO. Riveting and fresh....

quote:

Gus Malzahn has a Les Miles problem

quote:

Actually it may be more of a John Chavis problem, the way the LSU defense has managed to humble the Auburn offense on a regular basis, but it’s really bigger than both of them

quote:

The purple-and-gold Tigers have consistently been more physical than the orange-and-blue Tigers, and it hasn’t been close, and the gap has been reflected on the scoreboard.

400 yards of offense and 21 points, the last three quarters they faced, suggest that Gus has it figured out.

There’s only one SEC program that’s beaten Auburn six times in the last seven years. The combined score in those seven games: LSU 191, Auburn 115. Auburn didn’t score more than 24 points in any of those games. LSU got to 30 or more four times.

Not likely. More likely that Alabama learns the LSU Solution.

Outside of Bama I know there is no game I want to win more this year. I'm glad it's at home but AU hasn't won in BR in forever. Next year is circled too, on my desk calendar.

Unfortunately I don't think we'll find out.

LSU's fall has arrived so prematurely that I think it'll be "Can Chavis solve his Arkansas problem in time to avoid an A&M problem."

But LSU will be back, and we'll see if Gus has learned anything.

chavis is kryptonite for spread teams...unfortunately he is average against power running teams. LSU used to be stone cold against power

We'll see how it works out in Auburn. we can always home cook the refs. We usually do for Home games against LSU.

Good question. I hope the answer is yes. A Chavis style defense matches up well with what we have done in the past. We had a very similar situation with Tuberville matching up against Urban at Florida. Both Chavis and Tuberville believe in being strong up the middle, having speed on the outside and not giving up the big play. Being able to throw the intermediate and deep passes will be the key if we hope to put this question to rest.

Les Miles has a new QB problem.

Either a true freshman will make thier first start, a road game, against Auburn or a True Sophmore with one start under his belt will.

Damn sure need to. I miss the series from 10 years ago.

Sadly, we haven't held up our end.

Absolute DOMINATION!!!!

Could it possibly that a young team with new coaches just took awhile to click as a unit??? Or is that toooo far outside the box?
