Would only winning two titles in that time frame mean Bama under performed? Auburn and Florida State each have one and neither started any season in the top two.

These polls don't mean crap.
I guess it can be based off recruiting
and overall health of a program.
I don't believe it should be based solely off
last season's results.
We really have no idea how this new
committee system will work.
