I've always heard you can do the just after kickoff waiting deal, but does it actually pan out like that? Do you really get tickets for close to $20?

Saban has said before we'll continue our current scheduling methods until everyone else changes too. No reason to intentionally put us at a disadvantage if everyone else isn't going to do it. I wish we had some tougher OOC games too, but I understand the reasoning.

I watch a few games from home every year too. I usually attend all openers, Iron Bowls, and post season games. Try to make the really big away games. I rarely miss a game in BDS. No way is right. There is nothing wrong with anyone who does choose to stay home and watch on TV, but it'd be nice if we filled the stadium, even for the cupcakes. Most loyal fanbase in CFB, just hope the team knows that.

Last year I got them at the Chattanooga game for twenty bucks a pair half an hour before kickoff. Just bypass scalper row and head to the front of the stadium. Tide Pride members who have extras are more than happy to get whatever they can for them. I wouldn't do it for SEC teams, but for the games against the sisters of the poor it has paid off.

There were a couple of games last year where they offered deals similar to that if you bought like 4 tickets to the game.

The only home game I made it to last season was the UTC game. If the AD wants to actually fill the stands for a game like that they should start by not charging $20+ for parking and $45+ for tickets to those games.

Last year I literally had to give away some of the smaller home game tickets.

VT tickets were easily available for face last year, I cant imagine how much they are going to fall the week before WVU. I didnt even bother to get any ahead of time to the high face value.

This has been a really good discussion. I think we have two issues...scheduling and ticket prices.

I just noticed that the face value on my AU and aTm tickets is $75. But the additional tickets that Bama made available for aTm was $100...which is also the face value on aTm's allotment for the game.

The face value for my OOCs is $45. Don't know why they upped the price for the ones on sale now to $55, but IMO it is not good PR when there is a perception that you have to bribe fans with cash back in order to sell tickets. And I think it could cause some bad will with those fans that already bought their tickets at $55.

I also agree that the ATL game has run it's course. But I still like to go and will probably keep going. My son really likes to go to Atlanta, but my girlfriend doesn't; she would rather drive the extra hour to get to Tuscaloosa instead. And while ATL may have run it's course, there will probably be considerable interest in the USC game in Dallas. I would also love to travel to some big name Big 5 campuses. Maybe getting some teams other than ACC teams would reinvigorate the chicken sandwich game.

The cheapest tickets for FAU on Stubhub right now is $39. So the seller is only going to get about $35. And there's 2,700 tickets available just on Stubhub. So it's very likely that close to kickoff you could get them for $20 or even less.

Saw this coming a few years ago after the last expansion. Those upper deck end zone seats are TERRIBLE, and nowhere near worth the face value of them.

I've said before I think they overexpanded BDS. Sure, demand is there if you look at the waiting list for Tide Pride, but walk around campus the day we play Southern Miss. People will be begging you to take their extras. You'd be a fool to buy into Tide Pride right now when you can get tickets to every game on the secondary market for cheaper if you play the game right.

They need to either drastically cut the Tide Pride donation(fat chance of that happening) or drastically cut the price of those end zone upper deck seats. I wouldn't sit up there for another Game of the Century if you gave me a free ticket.

Save for the big conference games, you don't even need to wait until kickoff. 2 years ago I paid $10 each for 2 25 yard line seats for the Ole Miss game. Last year I found 10 yard line seats for LSU for $110 each. Both were about 30 minutes before kickoff.

Forget which game it was 2 or 3 years ago, but there were literally tickets on the ground just before kickoff.

the powers that be can blame hdtv's all they want. but its them pricing themselves out of the market. add to that the hideous traffic/parking in t-town and a 25" sdtv is better value. it used to be fun going to games, now, nowhere near worth the hassle and cost.

My son plays DII ball (kicker) for Miles College in Birmingham and has a 6pm game on 9/6. My family and I are planning to head to Tuscaloosa for the FAU game (11am CST kickoff) and get tickets at a good price. There will be 5 of us so I doubt we'll all sit together. Worst case scenario if we can't get tickets, we find somebody tailgating with a large screen TV, satellite dish and generator around Bryant Denny and watch the game with them before heading out to Birmingham to watch my son.

It's going to be a LONG, hot day, but worth it.

The 3 cupcake games a year has got to stop. When tailgating is more interesting than the competition on the field, you are going to have empty seats.

$40 for some prime choice steaks
$40 for beer
Invite friends and enjoy game on my 52" HDTV

Hmm....

This is pretty much spot on for me. I'm not one to waste a whole day watching football. I like to fish, hunt, workout, chase puss, etc.

I like to watch the bama game and then get on with my life.

The traffic in Tuscaloosa on game day makes me cringe as well.

I own a business on Queen City Ave. and I can tell that the excitement is fading. Rising costs and 3 terrible home games are playing a big role. A guy(season ticket holder)that normally parks in my lot told me that he spent $1000/home game last year for he and his family to come watch the game and enjoy festivities. Needless to say, he is not coming to the FAU, WC, and USM game this year.

I live in Atlanta, but the prices are ridiculous. I'm planning on going to the Georgia Tech game for $7.00, heading to Hudson's in Midtown for the Bama game, and going to the Braves game later that evening for likely less than 10 bucks all while taking the MARTA to avoid traffic. $90 and up for nosebleeds no thanks, but Roll Tide

Hard to disagree. We can fill it up but nobody wants to drop money to sit in the Upper Deck endzone. Hell, even the students don't want to sit up there.

I'd rather sit at a Gameday Condo and watch the game on a flat screen than sit in the upper deck endzone in the heat or the cold.

Do away with the neutral site games and schedule home and home with teams that fit in to our recruiting area needs. Let's get some big name teams coming in to T Town. When we schedule a neutral site game ala USC, we lose a home game. We then try to get a Power 5 team to schedule us for a one game at BDS setup. None of the top tier Power 5 will buy in to that. It leaves us with the Western's of the world coming to town, and personally, I don't like forking out that kind of cash to see a beatdown.
