Eric Hyman wants to do one thing more than anything ... show-up SCAR. He wants to validate his move to A&M and nothing would justify that more in his eyes than them dominating us in all sports. You can bet on that.

What I do like about the permanent cross-divisional rivalry thing is:

1 - Nothing in this league is permanent when it comes to scheduling.

2 - We need to recruit Texas big time while they are our cross-divisional rivals. We need to take advantage of being in that state, being in their heads, and yank some good players outta there while we have the chance. Get something established. We've already got coaches with connections there and we need to strike while the iron is hot and take our fair share ... as does LSU, Bama and Arkansas, not to mention Oklahoma and others.

Possibly agree but pretty sure Bama vs Vols would be clear sign snow is expected in Hell.

My understanding was the cross rival was football only?

This is the upside but if TX is the real end game then you need to schedule another Big 5 TX school in the off year so you have a game in TX every year. Pretty sure folks in austin will not play along and playing a non Big 5 team probably has diminishing laws of returns as the Big 5 breakaway become more apparent.

So you rotate something like this:
TAMU @ TAMU
TCU @ Dallas (#1 MSA in TX @ 6.5 million)
TAMU @ TAMU
BU @ Houston (#2 MSA in TX @ 6.1 million)
TAMU @ TAMU
TT @ San Antonio (#2 MSA in TX @ 2.1 million)

Hyman has a LONG way to go before ever endearing himself to A&M.

I personally am not too keen on him so far, but it's early yet.
