As the hypothetical Athletic Director of SC, what would be the SC project(s) you would pick, and what do anticipate the cost(s) to be?

Al lot of projects have already either been funded or bonded, like the new indoor practice facility, greenscaping around Williams Brice, or the new tennis and soccer facilities, etc....

I'm talking about NEW things not already budget/planned for, but maybe you've seen on a Wish List for some time.

For me:

$40M - Williams Brice expansion of 5000 seats on North Endzone, but a lot of it is premium club/box seating.

$6.5M - Another Beast Board above the South Endzone to match the new raised one on the North Endzone. (The North Enzone Beast Board would be higher in elevation than it is now with the WB expansion.)

$4M - Increased Wireless/Data service for gamedays. I'd partner with Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and those guys to increase the towers and signal strength around WB. Hopefully they'd go dutch on this and if so, it could cost much less.

$20M - In club rooms/club seating renovations/enhancements. Keep updating the look. Wood grain e'rywhere!

Then $30M worth of incentives to coaches for winning%, championships, post season accolades in all sports.

or

How much do you think it would cost to brick the Brice?

I might be in the minority, but based on that rendition at least I'm not sure I'd like to see Williams-Brice bricked in. I just don't think it looks right for some reason.

This is what I'm ready to see happen. Finally get that parking lot out from under the stadium and landscape it up a bit.

We're expected to get a George Rogers statue too right? I'd like to think we'll eventually get a couple more up. Especially if we can come away with an SEC title soon.

I figure we we're already beautifying the area around WBS with the money we're already getting from football, why not spread that extra cash around the AD to build up some of our other programs. I would love to see us compete more nationally in other sports in addition to football/baseball (a la Florida and Stanford).

Only thing I can think of that would help the Football experience is to buy out some of those warehouses in the area and build an entertainment complex where we could put in restaurants, bars, clubs and something for kids as well. One of the big complaints we hear all the time is that the travel to other areas after the game for nightlife is annoying. Wouldn't mind adding another bar scene around the stadium (especially with a lot of students living in that area already...).

I don't know the legality or compliance issues that that would cross though... but maybe buy the property and direct what can go in there could be doable?

I would leave Williams Brice in the school's hands.. with the landscaping and stuff going on already I'm sure they have more (better) ideas than anything I could come up with here..

But I would use that $100 million dollars to buy up all of the industrial land between Rosewood and about a mile down Shop/Bluff Road.. Then I'd add sidewalks, landscaping, trees and some fancy light fixtures (similar to the ones in Gamecock Park), just to make it all seamless. I would then build mixed use developments around the stadium on all of the land, adding tailgating areas where needed.. This is all coming eventually anyway, but with $100 million I would just speed up the process, now THAT would really improve the area.
