AU experimented for the first time with a 5 down linemen set early in the game. On 3 of the 4 plays we used it, LSU exposed the folly in the strategy and broke off long runs. Couple that with a botched snap on a punt and we put ourselves in a hole too deep to climb out of.

Additionally, we were still figuring out who we were on offense and Marshall struggled to complete some easy passes in the first half.

Despite all of that, LSU most definitely was not in total control the whole game. Even early in the game we were running the ball effectively. Some poor execution on some passes and a couple of bad play calls sabotaged some early momentum.

Disagree. LSU went conservative as frick in the 2nd half and the defense went through the motions.

They were, I just watched the game last night. The outcome was never in doubt.

Eh, I guess but still nothing compared to what Auburn was able to do later in the year. Mainly y'all were completely one dimensional in the first half. The deep passes did not come until the second half and it really helped Auburn move the bal on the ground.

On the other side of the ball, Jeremy Hill and the O-line dominated your front 7 and we did not even need to use our WRs. LSU could have easily scored more in that game if they wanted to.

Auburn had me sweating bullets with how they were running the ball the whole game tbh.
