I highly doubt Texas would care for a pro team of any sort in Austin and would fight it tooth and nail from happening.

shite, they can't even bring themselves to share conference revenues evenly w/full Big 12 Net. No fricking way they'd be willing to compete w/a pro team.

Small part of the reason San Antonio still doesn't have an NFL team.

Thanks for fricking things up AGAIN, sips.

MLB would probably be the best shot (though still extremely slim) but the owners of the Astros/Rangers fighting it. NBA clearly isn't happening with three teams and the Spurs like an hour away and LA is way ahead of Austin/everyone else on the NFL pecking order, plus the direct comp with UT football would throw everybody up in arms.

I think an MLS team in Austin is a strong possibility though and would do pretty well.
