Whether its Harris or Jennings is immaterial. Freshman QBs, and Les Miles QBs in general, have struggled in this conference. Unlike most programs, LSU has a wealth of talent surrounding the future starter and, most importantly, an experienced and talented OL.

Inexperience at the skill positions is a cause to worry, but is no reason to be alarmed. You know who the Tigers are replacing on offense and you know who they are replacing them with. Dupre and Quinn are studs; don't even get me started on Fournette. We've seen highly-touted freshman WRs, which Dupre is physically comparable to, come into this conference and produce as true freshman (Green, Jones, Treadwell). However, all of the previously mentioned WRs had experienced passers throwing to them (Stafford, Parker Wilson, Wallace, respectively).

I view LSU's 2014 campaign similar to their 2010 season, when LSU bruisingly ran the football behind an experienced OL and had young, but supremely talented, players along the DL and in the secondary.

The schedule is brutal, as it always is in the SEC West. The key five-game stretch where we'll be able to tell which kind of team this one is is from October 4 to November 8, when the Tigahs play at Auburn, at Florida, against Kentucky, against Ole Miss, and against Alabama.

With the right breaks, and with some solid play from under center, LSU could win ten or eleven games.

Eight wins is certainly feasible, and is expected.

Hopefully we can get better at the MLB position, though I'm less concerned, given the depth we have there.

Is Kwon Alexanders still playing ILB? Is he battling injuries?

I agree with your entire post.

Kwon is an OLB. Welter is listed as the starting MLB... Kendall Beckwith is his backup.
