Tennessee has played 16 top ten teams in the regular season over the past 5 years.
Just wondering how many everyone else has played. 16 seems like a ton not including bowls.

Just being in the West means you play 4 ranked teams based on pre-season polls, minimum (5 if you're not one of the 4 ranked)

Alabama, for example, would play:
Ole Miss
Texas A&M
Auburn
LSU
Mississippi State, for example, would play:
Alabama
Auburn
Texas A&M
LSU
Ole Miss
So, MSU plays 5 ranked teams just by being one of the two unranked teams in the SECW (MSU, Arky)

Only the MAC plays a lower percentage of their non-conference games against ranked teams than the SEC does.
