Florida as a player and coach, but he definitely deserves a ton of credit for what he's done at sc

I will remember him as a smart-assed douchebag who hates on other coaches when he's not on top.
As to the question - his career is not over. Coaching at South Carolina is part of his legacy now, and if he stays there a few more years and wins big, then it adds to his legacy and he might be remembered for his Gamecock years. If he stays and fails to get them over the hump, then it certainly won't be a big negative but it would factor into his legacy.
His run at Florida was remarkable. Not only did he finish on TOP of the conference so consistently, but he did it with a very powerful Tennessee team sitting right there every year. Peyton Manning never beat him. Incredible. But if we give him all the credit for not just winning, but finishing FIRST year after year, then we also have to look at the current SCar program and ask why he has taken them so far but hasn't gotten them to the top.
Honest answer. Perhaps a bit biased because of his personality, but I think I'm being fair.

Will remember him for Aggies busting their home win streak on August 28.

He will leave a rich legacy. He won a heisman as a player. He won at Duke. He dominated the SEC for most of a decade at Florida. He needled his opponents mercilessly but gave them credit when it was deserved. He built a perennial loser at USC into one of the best teams in the SEC East. If he broke through and won the SEC at USC he'd just further cement what is already a hall of fame career.

I was gonna go with the ACC title with Duke, but that's been taken. So I'll go with running the Fun 'n Gun with the Tampa Bay Bandits.

Hat throwing at Florida. Losing to him sucked bad. but beating him was scwheeet.

Will always be a whinny bitch who cuts the coaches ahead of him.

Another small thing I will always remember was his first year in Washington, when they brought in a new kicker. Said something about bringing so and so on campus. Just a slight slip, but a little funny.

SOS will always be a Gator.....Just ask him.
What he did in his time at UF will be hard to duplicate. No matter where he coaches or what he does he always refers to himself as a Gator even though he should be our head coach and has some resentment because he isn't.
My dream would be, if Muschamp can't get it together this year, Jeremy Foley would crawl on his knees to Columbia and convince him to come back to UF and finish his career.

I disagree. He has brought South Carolina into a winning mindset. He has made them a power like he did a Florida.

His lone national championship and zero undefeated seasons despite having all that talent at Florida

I will also remember that spurrier is a great coach when his team is leading. He is not a good coach playing catch up. never has been.
get him down, get him hat throwing and you win.

Lets not forget the look on his face during and after the Choke at Doak.

You can't spell CITRUS (as in Citrus Bowl) without UT.
His playing success at Florida, winning the ACC at Duke, and his achievements at South Carolina.
A very top college coach.
