In the North, insults are just a joke. You're supposed to laugh them off and go, yeah, you're a cocksucker too, Johnny, ha ha ha. That mentality didn't exist in the South at all until about 20 years ago as more and more northerners moved down here, diluting some of the tenets of Southern culture.

I assure you, it was more than a joke. I was dead serious and he had to know it.

Miserable Yankee frick was repeated until he could no longer hear me. That was the kindest thing I said.
