i think social media does it as well. people put all these awesome pictures and experiences up and the rest of society is like, "man, my life isn't that awesome."

I do, too. And negative people and political people and religious people and braggarts and gossipy people and people with babies and pet people and...
Come to think of it, I haven't checked FB or Twitter in a while. No real need to, I suppose. One of my filters.
