The flipside to that argument: if Coker is clearly the better QB as demonstrated in practice after practice and rep after rep and therefore gives the TEAM the best chance to win, wouldn't the players be upset that he's not being given a job he has clearly won? I'm sure they like Sims but they've busted their tales to be able to go out there and win football games and compete for a championship this year. I doubt any of them would want Sims to start if Coker had proven himself to be the better option.

That's why this thing was always going to last into the season. IF Coker is the better option, Saban won't just tell the team. He'll play both QBs and let them see for themselves who is better, and whoever is better will play.
