I think the dynamic no one is talking about is the role Sims has played for years and how much he is loved on this team. The staff cannot simply "anoint" Coker as the starter. Doing so could have a negative impact on team chemistry.

Sim is universally loved. Every player loves the guy. They have to give him every opportunity to win the job - visible so in practice and in the media - so players know he was given a chance.

Ultimately, Coker will be the QB1 by the time Florida game is played (if not sooner) and by the end of the season I think we'll all look back at this thread and laugh at the angst that was expressed over who the QB would be.

(FTR - I like Sims a lot. He could get the job done, but he's not the long-term solution and, therefore, I don't think he'll be the short-term solution either).

You probably don't because you are an educated fan, but trust me it is some in the Bama Nation(a pretty large section) who are going to b!tch and moan if Sims holds down the fort. Regardless if we are winning or not.
