But the aspect im most interested to see is how our run game looks with Sims at QB. I think Blake will have some big play opportunities from zone reads or bootlegs. I'm just excited because we've never really seen the offense run at full force with a dual threat QB.

its pretty simple, if sims end up winning it we are going to have to make use of his legs on a systematic basis, not just scrambling (although that too). he is not polished enough of a passer or decision maker to do it all from the pocket, but add in the chance that he will take off on any given play and things open up for him as the defense has to account for him and cant play as aggressively. Sims is at least as good a passer as Marshall, very similar players actually. Not as quick in the run game maybe, but more powerful and just as fast. All we really need from him will be to limit the ints, gain a few 3rd down conversions with his legs, and hit the deep receivers when they are open on play action. Same goes fro coker if he starts. anything past that is gravy, and we will win a lot of games

i agree. it adds a new wrinkle that opposing teams havent really seen from us. i think that it may take them a while to figure it out. If Sims is in the shotgun there should always be the threat of a zone read. He and Drake had a lot of success in garbage time just running the zone read when everyone in the stadium knew it was coming.

I think Marshall is a better runner and has a much stronger arm (which he doesn't get as much credit for). That said, AU has to rely on him constantly to make plays. That offense will stall without the threat of him running. But like you said, Sims doesn't have to do that so anything extra he can bring to the offense is a bonus.
