Somewhere in the midst of Saban winning his 3rd NC. Richt has no in state competition. I couldn't see Auburn fans being content to play second fiddle even if it's with double digit win seasons

You're incorrect to think that fans have that much control. Richt is wildly popular with people who matter.

Are you nuts? He has arguably more competition than any other program in the South. Just because Auburn, Alabama, Clemson, South Carolina, Tennessee, FLorida, and FSU don't all carry Georgia addresses doesn't mean UGA doesn't have to constantly compete against them both in recruiting and as an athletic department in general. You're fooling yourself if you think an imaginary border matters frickall in this rat race of college athletics.

Tubs would still be AU's coach if he hadn't screwed up the '08 season so bad, lost the freakin Vandy and no bowl game got Tommy the boot. It was +50 between AU's natty's before Gene brought one to the Plains. So don't act like AU would have kicked a solid coach like Richt to the curb.
