back when I was in school a joint weighted about a pound (all seeds & stems). Nowdays the pot is a lot lighter (buds etc) so a lot less. I know because my son is in grad school in Boulder.

To be clear the only thing reported on Mincy is he was pulled over in a car going 92-65 (he was not driving) once the officers inspected the car they found "shake" on him. I don't think it was 8-10 ounces.

All this means is:

1. he went to court with his lawyer.
2. lawyer got the paperwork for the diversion program.
3. Mincy got told he had X weeks to complete the classes, fine, whatever.
4. has to return to court clerk to show proof of completion.
5. No extensions. If incomplete, see you in court for criminal prosecution.
6. Court will take 90-120 days thereafter to clear his record administratively if he does his work.

meantime Gus and the S&C coach own his arse.

I was about to ask about expungement. Tennessee allows expungement of many (not all) 1st offenses even without pre-trial diversion.

Okay maybe I exaggerate a bit, but the point is, don't take nearly as much as it used to! Back in the day, so to speak!

Ala needs to legalize and get ahead of the curve for once! Im no doper, but just makes good bidness sense

Does Mincy's previous participation in D.A.R.E. help his case?

Unbaffle yourself.
Like it or not.....IT IS STILL ILLEGAL.
Shouldn't take a rocket scientist to understand that.

I had to fill out paper work for a security clearance and it specifically asked if you had had any arrests or convictions expunged. And it's my understanding that expungements don't completely erase offenses. Some agencies and licensing boards will always have access to it.

They would have to. otherwise they wouldn't know if it was a first offense, or not.

Yep. Government agencies will still see it. Not only pot, but other kinds of misdemeanors as well, such as first offender shop lifting of crab legs.

The state could tax the shite out of it, and put that money to good use (not assuming they will though), they need weed tax money and a lottery system. They keep complaining how broke they are here, hell, here in Jefferson County, the public school system is in continuous cut back mode, laying teachers off and not hiring staff they need.

Sooooo....your argument is legalize weed so we can have more teachers?

You realize one of the mafias biggest money makers is fake tax labels on booze, right? Legalizing things so we can tax it. nice argument. legaling things so the prisons won't be overcrowded. Another good argument.

Hey! Why don't we legalize murder. We could tax it and make a TON of money, then the prisons would be empty!

And think of the teachers we could hire!
