Taken a little out of context and not quoted correctly makes a bit of a difference here.

The point he is making is a good one.

Do we not remember Beyonce's little sister swinging at Jay-Z and him doing nothing? If that would have been an athlete - probability is that girl gets the shite beat out of her. So how about we not do that women? It's not as stupid as people are making it out to be..

ETA: At the same time as he tells women to think before they act like that - he tells men there is no excuse. He's not contradicting himself, he's telling both parties to be responsible.
