I may have been on the beach that day they called.

Championship fan bases talk about their own team and football on the field, insecure and inferior teams fan bases talks about other fan bases.

Yep.

No, I have mocked and am mocking the study. If you see their methods, its highly flawed. This study has been going around here for a few years and my response has been the same

I'm telling you, some Auburn ag school grad has found a way to genetically mutate the cotton used to make Bama walmart shirts and the main side effect is mental illness.

I'll also include the fact that there is a huge portion of the populace that doesn't even know where Auburn is located.
People are generally really bad with geography. What's your point?

Anytime I've ever traveled and been asked "Where are you from?" - and the response is "Alabama"... I can't tell you how many times the other person's response is something along the lines of "Oh, well Roll Tide".
I've never gotten a "War Eagle" for being from Alabama.
I've never gotten a "roll tide", but I've gotten a War Eagle in all 8 of the foreign countries I've traveled to.
What's your point?

The Crimson Tide is a national brand.
So is Auburn.

Because of that, our fanbase is certainly larger.
Again, possibly, but not 100% verifiable by anything provided.
As I've stated a million times now, it really isn't a big enough difference to be statistically relevant.

It's almost as bad as the one that says Georgia Tech has more fans than Georgia.

How am I not getting your point?
I think that our crazy fans do things that are certainly publicized more than your fanbase or other fanbases. Ours likely does worse things than other fanbases...but all of the Bama fan threads that have recently appeared suggest that we are the only ones that have nutcases. Any rational person would know that that simply isn't true.
You can't deny that Vermilion, allin, etc. have spent a fair amount of time in their 'research' of some of our fans.

Can you provide anything to counter other than say there's no way
I can. Using actually raw data based on the individual and not some misconstrued formula based on only 30,000 phone surveys where apparently Arkansas state was at the top, and TV market ratings that don't reflect the fandom of the individual. It was also compiled in 2013, not 2011.

Either way the number fans to ones that do stupid stuff still doesn't come close.

This is the norm with any school not named after a location. A very large number of people dont even know where Notre Dame actually is.

Alabama and Florida State dominate the panhandle though (at least from my experience).

No one is suggesting this.
However, we are stating that your are crazy because of their actions. That is what makes them crazy.

This is the whole point. I think you are finally getting it. Crazy isn't being used to describe the fans that take football way too seriously. It is being used to describe fans that take it so seriously they kill/poison.

Well naturally if you're wearing Auburn gear.
I'm talking about just wearing normal clothes and being asked where you're from. I can just about guarantee you that you didn't receive a "War Eagle" in those foreign countries if you weren't wearing Auburn gear - unless you were representing the University.
