If that's really the case and Lee took himself out, I respect miles infinitely more. That guy went though a worst case scenario football wise on 1/9 and took major heat for not playing Lee and STILL wouldn't throw him under the bus. If the rumors are true Les is a better man than I thought.

You can say that about almost every coach at one point and time. Like Saban for example. He is bullheaded and it has cost hims games too.

You can find examples with every coach.

Why do people think Lee playing would have made a difference? I don't think it would have. He never played particularly well against Alabama.

It couldn't have gotten any worse.

it was more the refusal to make any changes when what LSU was trying to do obviously wasn't working. When you can't cross the 50 yard line until the 4th quarter, and Jordan Jefferson is in the midst of his second straight game with fewer than 60 passing yards, most people would try anything at that point. What would you have to lose? I don't think that is an implication that Lee would have come in and LSU come back to win, but it couldn't have been any worse with him in the game as it had become very clear Jefferson wasn't able to do anything all night. And for a guy like Lee, who got the team to where it was for almost the entire season, he deserved to get in that game given the situation. However, you never see Jarrett Lee acting like a 12 year old girl and bashing Miles because he has something Blackwell obviously doesn't... class.

It's dumb to have this arguement, but people forget it was a two-score game going into the fourth quarter, where that LSU team had played it's best all season. One Lee pick-6 could have sealed the deal long before then.

Was this guy really a team captain? You gotta admit, that's pretty unprecedented. Will he ever get a job in Louisiana now?

This is especially true:

I see Alabama is a "rival", now according to Gumps.

Well, only when it suits your purpose on here that is.

yeah that's one of the most glaring things to me. he's fully entitled to his opinion, but for a guy who was voted by his team and thought to be a leader, you would assume he'd know how to take the high road and just stfu. He played under a huge national spotlight while at LSU. I'm sure he heard much worse, so he should definitely know better than to respond to everyone that tweeted at him and should have known better than to tweet what he did in the first place. It's not as if he was treated badly. As a matter of fact, had Les Miles not switched him from the defensive line, he never would have gotten the opportunity to start and ultimately be named an all-american. yet he feels the need to trash les for one game 3 years ago? I mean there are things you can say about Miles, but being disloyal and non-supportive to his players is not one of them. Unless Miles treated him like shite (doubtful), Blackwell shouldn't be going on a twitter rant attacking the guy who gave him every opportunity he needed to become a successful player. Blackwell just comes off sounding highly immature.

It wouldn't have mattered what they did. It seemed the whole team was pouting over something. Even if it was the gameplan that doesn't make it ok to not go out there and give it your all. Bama played with intensity and we didn't. They looked nothing like they did in the first game. That loss was on the players not the coaches.

even if what he said is true, that's irrelevant in the context of everything he said. and how random is it to make a comment like that with no context. it's the middle of the off season and nothing has happened in awhile. it's been over three years since he played. he wanted attention, plain and simple, and he got it to his own detriment

One individual's sour grapes. Miles is a player's coach and is universally loved and respected. Also, Miles is the winningest coach in CFB the last 9 years....

I'll go with the cat that's won 3 NCs in the last seven years as the "winningest".
