If you can hold down water, drink water (or pedialyte). Sip throughout the day. Don't gulp down a huge amount of water in a short period of time.

No ice cold water...though it's probably late for that warning. Once you hit the beginning stages of becoming a heat casualty, ice cold water can actually put you into shock. Drink room temp.
(same is true for jumping straight into an air conditioned room or cool shower)
