Not gonna be the ridiculous class they brought last year, but a large class with good balance.

We'll get (maybe more than) double the five stars we got last year.

We'll see how that plays out by signing day.

When Bama, Auburn, Georgia, OSU, USC, etc. start putting on the pressure, coupled with Tennessee's inevitably unsuccessful year, it will revert to the mean somewhat.

IMO here is what our class will look like on the 247 Composite on Signing Day.

QB - Quentin Dormandy - 4*
- Jauan Jennings - 4*
RB - Alvin Kamara - 4*
- Bryce Love - 4*
WR - Preston Williams - 5*
- Van Jefferson - 4*
- Joc Bruce - 3* (BLUESHIRT)
TE - Kyle Oliver - 3*
OL - Drew Richmond - 4*
- Jack Jones - 4*
- Chance hall - 3*
- Zack Stewart - 3*
DE - Andrew Butcher - 4*
- Kyle Phillips - 4*
- Dylan Jackson - 3*
- Marques Ford 3*
DT - Kahlil McKenzie - 5*
- Shy Tuttle - 5*
- Quay Picou - 3*
LB - Cecil Cherry - 4*
- Quarte Sapp - 4*
- Austin Smith - 3*
DB - Justin Martin - 4*
- Darrell Miller - 3*
- Stephen Griffin - 3*
LS - Riley Lovingwood - 2* (BLUESHIRT)
P - Tommy Townsend - 2*

3 - 5*'s
12 - 4*'s
10 - 3*'s
2 - 2*'s

I think that would have us in the top 10 easy.

Even if we do have a class outside the top ten, which IMO isn't likely. It'll still be 30 spots above Vanderbilt.

2014 Class

Scout- ranked 4th
Espn- ranked 5th
Rivals- ranked 5th
247- ranked 7th

That's a consensus top 5 class and every single player from that giant class made it in. Thanks for playing

Don't argue with him. He can't even spell a simple name like Jordan correctly

That's an excellent class. I'm not knocking Tennessee's excellent recruiting of late, I just don't see the same effect as last year. More around Ole Miss' last year.

Having 10 or so more recruiting spots this year, you might actually be right. At the current average per recruit rating we are around 36-38.

Hopefully we'll pull that average up with a few more good kids.

Could they hold onto all of them going 4-8? Not saying they will before people lose their minds.

What happens when/if Tennessee goes 1-7 or 2-8 again in the SEC like they always do? Seriously?

Seems they are pilling up the 3*s. Which I don't think is a real problem except when it comes to their ranking. Where do you see them finishing this class?

Not worried about the 3*s for a couple of reasons:

1. Those of us who've followed Jones' recruiting closely know that he's gotten in early on recruits before and those recruits have been bumped to 4*s when updates roll around. His staff so far has shown an eye for talent.

2. It's been hinted at by our recruiting services and insiders that we shouldn't get concerned about the roster numbers as it work itself out just like last year. Some of these recruits won't stick all the way til signing day and in the past that has been 4*s and 3*s that were less touted or questionable although unknown 3*s have stuck and worked out well. More than one 4* tapped out last year and a lot weren't cool with the level of competition that became apparent as more recruits joined.

I realize that we have a small sample to work with but I'm not at all blowing smoke when I say I'm not worried about how the class ranking turns out. I think we'll stay in great shape. Now if this were Dooley, let's just say I'd be singing a different tune.
