That makes no damn sense.

sigh, they are told what the talking points are going to be before they go on these shows. why do you think coaches never look like they are caught off guard by a question and always have a response ready to go? this isn't a press conference we're talking about. no coach would ever agree to go on a national broadcast like that if they did not know what they would be discussing beforehand. it would be incredibly stupid to open yourself up to be ambushed on national tv.

What talking point could he have been informed of that caused him to think it was a good idea to look up A&M's schedule? They asked him about the SEC, not A&M's schedule.

Yep media days this year has turned into nothing but jockeying for position in a 4 team playoff. The SEC says we are the best because of our track record and conference title game. Big 12 says they don't need a conference title game because they play a 9 game round robin schedule and that is a better SOS than SEC and cupcakes like what aTm plays.
