There hasn't been a repeat SEC champion since 1997, 1998 Tennessee

That's 16 years and counting. Even Saban couldn't get it done during his dynasty years when they were consistently ranked top 3 almost every week.

Repeat national champ is easier and it has been done FWIW.

It's not easier to win a national title than a SEC championship.

It goes to show you the strength of the SEC top to bottom.

Alabama has gone 7-1 in the SEC West, a mark that has historically been a near lock to win the division, but that was only good enough to win the division 1 time.

What's just as bad is those are the only two SEC Championship victories Tennessee has.....
