It's like they don't even remember 2011.

They couldn't wait to get Malzahn out of there so Chizik could get his pro style offense fully installed. They believed Gus' offense would never work long term in the SEC (for good reason as his offenses were sub-par in 3 of 4 years and they had Cam Newton for the other).

All of this .... They conveniently forget the skull fricking Gus received in the 2011 Iron Bowl when his offense didn't score single point

In their defense, their team was fairly young that year.

He did indeed. It's just comical to bring up only certain parts of his history and attribute only the successes of the Chizik era to him when his offenses for the most part played terribly against Saban's defenses.

A lot of Malzahn's wins have been close games. He usually leaves and goes somewhere else before teams adjust to his Offense. No such luck this time.

He's a great coach. Period. No other way around. And he proved it definitively by beating Saban.

Last year was his first year as a head coach of a power conference team that just happened to be familiar with his offensive style, so much so that several players that had already been recruited for his type of team were already on campus when he'd been there. He was the backbone of Auburn during Chizik's tenure; when he left they were spineless. Once he returned, they stood strong again. Surprise? No, let's see sustained success at Auburn before we call him a great coach. For starters, let's see if he can do something about Auburn being LSU's bitch, and he still has a lot of work to do before he's even mentioned in the same breath as Alabama or LSU. Auburn was far from dominant last season; they were just a winner and can't count on winning games the way they won them in 2010 or 2013 for long. Auburn's must learn to be dominant and keep the opponent out of the game. Some of those close games that became wins are going to become losses eventually.

That's what I love about Bama fans trying to degrade Malzahn based on last year.

Took a 3 win team and won the SEC and was 13 seconds away from a national championship. And you try to brush it off as no big deal.

And all you have to hang your hat on is close wins. Think about that for a second.

You are trying to talk down about actually winning. Do you realize how ludacris you sound?

So you're saying a terrible offensive output put up 28, 28, and 21 points on Saban's D?

What does an average or good offensive output do to Saban's D in that case?

You bring up good points, but you can't look at the way he brought Auburn from 0-8 in conference to SEC champs in one year and not say he's a tremendous coach. Furthermore, he has Auburn in a strong position to make an NC run this year. The SEC has about 4 years of film on his offense to know what they are up against. Gus is not going anywhere.

I think they are trying to claim some sort of moral victory when AU puts up less than 30 on saban.

I'm calling it now; Gus will win the SEC two more times with one NC in the next 5 years, then jump to the NFL. He'll spend three years there with little success, then take the position at Bama just after Saban retires. You heard it here first.

Two Bama fans talking about how auburn fans acted in 2011 with 2013 join dates. Is it possible beer Bryant has two alters having a conversation about auburn? Would seem to match his auburn - centric mentality.

Slow down with the high school shite. Arkansas high school football is a joke. You don't see rush propst coaching Alabama and he had more titles and against better competition than malzahn. He's a solid offensive coach and no one denies that but he isn't exactly what you would call an established winner. This is his first real head coaching gig where it matters publically. If he can do it for the next 2-3 years he's starting to build some talk for one of the top coaches out there.

Do tell?

Please... continue.
