forced their will upon LSU in the second half of last year's game? Yes, I know LSU had early momentum that they gave away when they fumbled the ball twice. Regardless, Alabama didn't capitalize off of those turnovers, and it was a tied game early in the 3rd quarter. After that impressive second half showing, Alabama took a turn for the worse. Why?
quote:

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- For the first time in two months, an opponent was standing up to Alabama.

The top-ranked Crimson Tide flashed its overwhelming punching power to knockout No. 13 LSU in Saturday night's 38-17 victory Saturday, scoring the final 21 points in punishing fashion.

AJ McCarron threw three touchdown passes, T.J. Yeldon ran for 133 yards and two scores, and the Tide (9-0, 6-0 Southeastern Conference) turned to smash-you-in-the-mouth football to take control of a game that was tied early in the third quarter. Yeldon carried 18 times in the second half, 25 overall.

And down went LSU (7-3, 3-3).

"I think we probably played our best half of football," Tide coach Nick Saban said. "We didn't play great in the first half, but man I tell you what, a lot of character out there in the second half."

After thumping LSU so thoroughly in the 2nd half of that game, EVERYONE associated with bammer (including Saban) and 99.9% of the CFB media thought the NC was theirs for the taking. All they had to do was show up for the remaining games, blow out whatever sacrificial lamb won the SEC East, and then trounce FSU. The media bammer suck-up lovefest the week after the LSU game was world-class.
Makes the humiliating end to their season all the more hilarious.
