Yea, not completely verified and 5 years of searching didn't turn up anything. Cornell called off the search. IUCN lists them as possibly extinct so that is probably why they aren't considered for the list. An AU team also had some "sightings" in Florida, but again, no one could verify with good photos, recordings or DNA.

Still searching. I'm planning a trip to Arkansas for birding and, of course, to look for the Ivory-billed Woodpecker. I've been once but didn't have any luck.
