Really cool list. Sucks that it's happening, some really interesting animals on there.

And all of the names are better than Ole Miss Black Bears

What about the Mexican Staring Frog of Southern Sri Lanka?

List is BS.
It doesn't have the Ivory Billed Woodpecker. Was thought to be extinct and although not complete verified they have found some in some AR swamps.

Yea, not completely verified and 5 years of searching didn't turn up anything. Cornell called off the search. IUCN lists them as possibly extinct so that is probably why they aren't considered for the list. An AU team also had some "sightings" in Florida, but again, no one could verify with good photos, recordings or DNA.

Snow leopards are rarely seen, but aren't as endangered as some of the other big cat species. They should have listed Amur leopards, which are extremely endangered and probably functionally extinct in the wild.

Still searching. I'm planning a trip to Arkansas for birding and, of course, to look for the Ivory-billed Woodpecker. I've been once but didn't have any luck.

That's cool, my wife and I are research biologists and birders. She worked in Arkansas doing some Ivory Billed related work. I think they could be out there, but who knows.

It's kind of like hunting. You don't have to pull the guts out of anything, though.

I'm encouraged by Cornell's endorsement of a 2005 very blurry video showing a specimen in Arkansas. I'm going to the Dagmar WMA next Winter. I think late Winter or very early Spring is the best time to look for the IBW.
