Then would LSU have made it?
2003 LSU was a very good team and deserved a spot in the national championship. The rankings were a bit screwy. IMO, LSU should have been ranked #1 and USC should have been ranked #2. Teams that get blown out in the last game of the regular season don't deserve to play for a national championship.
