If the 2005 BCS National Championship was any indicator, Oklahoma was a fraud. Seriously, what were the big difference between the 2003 and 2004 versions of USC and Oklahoma? During USC's run, it wasn't their fault that the PAC was weak. The system ultimately penalized them due to their conference affiliation. If the PAC was strong, they might have made a few more appearances.

They shouldn't have lost to 8-6 California that year.

Let it go.

You can never really compare year to year. I thought both conferences were pretty weak - very little D. OU beat their one common opponent with USC in 2003(UCLA) by 35 compared to USC's 25-point win. There wasn't much else to go on, but it seemed like the teams were somewhat similar that year.

USC did have an awesome run back then and were exciting to watch.
