Dubose. Shula was coaching a team hammered with scholarship sanctions. He wasn't a good coach, but the situation he was in definitely made things worse.

Thanks for the reply. My first memories of Mizzou was the Powers era. I remember him mostly going 8-3, 7-4, and going to bowls like the Liberty, Holiday, etc. He'd usually win a game he shouldn't each year and also lose one. Then all of a sudden they went like 3-7-1 and he was gone. Then enter Woody and Stull. I just couldn't understand how one really bad season got him canned. I know that was around 84-85 and Mizzou wouldn't have another winning season until Larry Smith in like 1997.

They played a tougher ooc schedule under Powers and would win games against ND,etc but lose to Iowa State. Didn't help that he lost 3 of the last 4 against Kansas.

The 80's/90's were definitely the dark ages for Mizzou football after Powers.

correct answer for Mizzou and Vandy is Woody Widenhofer, we road Woody's Wagon right into Oblivion.

Ed Orgeron... I hate the recruiting argument in favor of him. He was atrociously bad. I don't give Snead all credit for 08 and 09, so some of the credit must be attributed to Nutt during those years. Nutt essentially wins with Orgeron' 2007 0-8 team.

I was in school during Orgeron era. Players absolutely hated the man from the moment they stepped on campus. They may not have respected nor played for Nutt in the latter years but they loathed Eddy O. And it definitely showed.

No. Richard Bell was dealt a bad hand for the one season he coached.

Fat Bradstard Scott almost destroyed the program.

Two different situations altogether.

Agreed. He was the Lane Kiffin of Ole Miss. Totally out of place. A West Coast punk coaching in the SEC.
