Not sure with Comcast. There's not a whole lot of room unless they move FXX or Golf.

Oh yeah ... I forget where in Tennessee he grew up but he has mentioned a few times over the years back when he was doing his Charlie Chat Show that he is the world's biggest SEC/Vol fan. He's worth something like twenty billion dollars. He and his wife still own the majority of DISH, he's still Chairman of the Board, so he still carries a lot of weight around there.

In case anyone is interested, I imagine firstrowsports and wiziwig will have multiple streamers for just about every SEC game on the new network. I use them for blackouts. You should be careful and have antivirus on as some links can be hazardous if you're not used to using 3rd party streamers.

I just copied this off of Wiki ...

quote:

Ergen was born into an Episcopalian family[8] in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, on March 1, 1953,[6][7] the fourth of five children born to Viola and William Ergen.[9] His mother was one of the first female accountants in the state of Minnesota[8] and his father was an Austrian immigrant who was working in Sweden as a nuclear physicist who left Europe prior to World War II as part of the continental brain drain.[9] His father coined the phrase "China Syndrome".[9] His parents married in Minnesota in 1944 and then moved to Camden, New Jersey, before settling in Oak Ridge where his father accepted a position at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory.[8] Ergen received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, where he was a walk-on basketball player,[10] and an M.B.A. from Wake Forest University.[1][3][5][6][7][11] He was a professional blackjack and poker player.[4][10][12]

Ergen studied finance at the University of Tennessee, became a CPA, and worked for Frito-Lay before striking out on his own.[

I've heard a rumor, just a rumor, that the SEC Network is going to feature a SEC baseball series each Thursday along with ESPNU so there will be two Thurs, Fri, Sat series every weekend now... Gonna enjoy jumping from channel 206 to channel 210 in between innings on Thurs nights in the Spring... If it's true of course.

DISH ... it's gonna have to be 143, 145-150ish.

DISH has never been afraid to move some things around.

It is 408 on Dish. Been up on their online channel guide a few weeks.

Not sure what # CSS was for the rest of y'all.

CSS 402

That's Sunshine Network, which is one of the Fox Sports Channels in Fla..

I have a feeling the SECN will go where CSS was.....at least the people who got the CSS out of Atlanta.

I really hope the rumors are right about DTV and the SECN. I don't want to give up DTV. Been with them a long time.

Just paid an extra $5 for it to be added to my COX cable bill. Curious what channel it will be.

Vermillion how did you get to order the channel?

Is it on the Sports Pak 2 or something like that?

Cox doesn't really inform you where to look to add the channel.

What level do you have. It shows LHN(407) then skips to the regional sports networks on channel 412.

For OP:

Since it's different channels for different folks here is the information on Comcast Xfinity:

The systems in the states of Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Florida that will offer this channel will have SEC Network on the Digital Starter package and systems launching in any other state will offer SEC Network as part of the Digital Preferred package.

Digital starter is the basic 80ish channels you get with either a cable box or the converter box.

Digital preferred is the 150ish channels you get (the next package up).
