I think that traditional marriage and child rearing is an important facet to society and the well being of a nation.
I understand and support the tax code as it incentivizes the traditional family model, which the least amount of criminals and most productive members tend to come from that. I know there are terrible people that come from good homes and wonderful people that come from broken homes, but the majority of time that is not the case.

I do support the right of gays to marry and have the government recognize that as a legitimate union. Also for common law marriages and civil unions.
While I don't agree with either lifestyle itself, I do not think that the government should not encourage the growth of a stable lifestyle whether there is a marriage "tag" placed on it or not.
