@RadiNabulsi It has been confirmed that UGA freshman have been banned from social media until after the last game of the season
Thoughts on this?

It's gonna piss them off but it's a good idea.

Absolutely love it. I am on record having said I wanted all of them banned or underclassmen so I'll gladly take it.

Sounds like a good idea...hope it doesn't affect recruiting, though. Some kids are pretty attached to that crap.

Yep, I love the idea but am worried how some recruits will take it since many of them are so attached to all of social media and the attention they can get from it. That being said, I love the direction this program is headed in.

IMO...if a ban from social media keeps them from the red and black..then the last thing I want is for them to wear the red an black.
Good move.
Good move.

Gonna be awfully tough to enforce it.

Not really. They will hire out a firm that specializes in this...its really not difficult.
Remember, these kids wouldn't take the time to try and hide it, the whole point for them to be on social media is to be known...

I guess I'll have to take your word for it.

It just seems wrong that UGA would have to hire a firm to prevent adults from expressing their viewpoints to whatever masses cares. I understand the rationale, but this further shows the divide between athletes and actual students.

Hell, they don't even have to do that. Just collect everyone's twitter, facebook, instagram, vine, etc. accounts handles and passwords. Then, one of your grad assistants gets to monitor everyone's accounts. Players don't know whose account is begin watched at what time and if anything is posted past a certain date, then they get to run tens the next morning.

Well shite, guys. The ban was the players' idea. They want to cut down on the distractions from last year. Be still my heart, is that... accountability and leadership I sense???

Update: The #UGA freshman social media ban was proposed by the player's unity council. They took it to Mark Richt who agreed to the terms.

So the ban was initiated by the players to cut down on distractions after last year. Implemented after spring. Very interesting.

Yet another tangible indicator that shows that our team cancer might be on the run.

Now if it's self-imposed, I'm a happy man. Go Dawgs!
