I used to pick up old ladies in the church bus in Mound Bayou and take them to arts and crafts at St. Gabriel's Mercy Center. Only white dude in town and they took me in with open arms. Really cool experience.

Far enough from Lafayette to where you won't get infected by USL, but close enough so you can drive through USL if you are depressed and want to feel better about your life.
Only downside - St. Martinville
