Brian Wallace at LT

Did anyone read the ADG article this morning where Wallace said he is playing LT?
I really thought he would start off at RT when he arrived and then move to guard during the season like Skipper last year. I'm wondering where they would move Skipper if Wallace were to beat him out. It's definitely a nice problem to have that's for sure.

Honest question, how does Skipper's height effect him on the outside instead of in the middle as far as blocking the QB's vision.
Its a unique problem to have and watching a team with as short QB in the NFL you seem to see the interior linemen move around to create those "windows" more than the tackles.

at tackle he's out of the way more on an outside rush as the DE get kicked out behind the pocket and you generally see the QB slide up and make their throw.
Where Skipper might be at a disadvantage is with a DE that has really good footwork, a guy that plays like Dwight Freeney that can spin inside or dip a shoulder a get under Skipper changing direction to the inside could be problematic.
We won't know until the games are played but at the moment Skipper and Wallace both have to play LT because Brey Cook would be a nightmare at that position, a nightmare for us. Cook still needs to be an interior OL but Petrino left us with no other scholarship Tackles that can play in the SEC.
Stringer and Beck are still here for APR reasons, I assume that the Kansas 2x All American Juco guard wasn't cut loose for depth reasons but he's not contributed one bit yet.

McClure won't ever give us anything - he's just a body. I think Koehler could turn out to be about the same.

Maybe they hope Wallace can redshirt if at all possible then be Skips backup until he graduates. Or maybe they'll move Skipper to the other side if Cook sucks it up

Pittman will figure out the best spots for personnel this year. Next year, he may shuffle. I pretty well trust him.

I was really hoping to see Wallace at LG this year and then slide out to RT next year. Of course, that's assuming Skipper can play LT in the SEC.

I like having Skipper out there just for the Jimmie Rustling

It's a shame that we won't get to see him live inside Nkemdiche's head again this year if he's at LT.

I'm thinking we could see something like
starters
Wallace--Skipper--Jefferson--Kirkland--Cook
backups
Beck--Tretola--Ragnow--Smothers--Ollison

Skipper will start at LT

I'm sure he will but it's still interesting that they have Wallace there right now as well. Especially since Bielema has routinely said that Wallace is the best OL that he's ever signed out of high school.

great problem to have. Need momma Wallace to hit that recruiting trail again.

Only if she's moved out of STL.
Seriously though, sounds like Wallace is turning heads. Great to hear. Always love to hear the Missouri kids doing well even if they go elsewhere. I'm torn about wanting to see him play this year versus saving a year by redshirting.

I wish we could redshirt all freshman, but Pricktrino hasm't left us with a lot of options.
Glad to see you are one of the good ones, root for kids regardless of schools, but I struggle with this the most.

Yeah, but he hasn't got near the incredible arse that Bijohn over on the DL has.
Wallace will play, no doubt. They felt good enough about depth to move Cordale to DL. Hey, Cordale have a big arse or something.?

They moved Boyd? I hadn't read that. (looked at the media guide and see him listed at DL) Must've slipped by me.
It's definitely going to be interesting to see how the line comes together.
I expect Ward to get that medical exemption, but going 1 for 4 on our 4* DT targets in the '14 class might mean he gets to stick around another year.
I think we are likely the leader for Glen Bethel at Arizona Western CC. He's a 89 3* on 247. He could play all 3 OL positions.
I looked at NEO's roster and I saw that Trent Hosick transfered there from Mizzou, would love to convinve him to give up QB and play anywhere else on the field, loved his tape and his attitude. Don't love that he's already committed to BYU.
I'm curious why we haven't offered Hjalte's teammates at IMG. They've got about 4 OL prospects that may not be elite but they do seem to have some potential.
