Miami did 4 in 8 and right now they rank as the best dynasty in CFB. If we win this year I would like to think we would be, but who knows

It would be if we go undefeated, imo. I think most outsiders want to see Bama go undefeated one more time in this run before they crown the Tide. We came close last year, but...

I dunno...Miami actually won 4 in 9 (1983 to 1991 covers 9 seasons)...I think 3/4 is better than 4/9...only 3 teams in history have won 3 of 4... Notre Dame ('46, '47, '49), Nebraska ('94, '95, '97), and Bama ('09, '11, '12). And ND in the '40's won 4 in 7 (add '43 to the titles above)...
Of these, I'd probably rank Nebraska tops as they were only a missed FG away (in '93) from winning 3 in a row (and 4 of 5)...and they were undefeated in each of their championship seasons during that run...
Bama's argument is that each of their championship seasons in culminated in a #1 vs. #2 matchup, as no other team can make that claim in a similar time frame...
