Well that will be even better. People that don't have the sports package won't have to start subscribing to it. I have had the Comcast rep's lie to me before over the phone. I would suggest any Comcast customer needs to call and see what they need to do to ensure they have it come launch date.

I fail to see how this network is a good thing for the fans or the networks by limiting who can watch it. You take a game that would have been on ESPN and is now only accessible to those in the SEC foot print. It's some bull shite.

It's all about the money, not the fans.

This will bring in an additional multiple of 10'sssss of millions of dollars to the SEC every year. It will also give people more access to a wide variety of live SEC sports and SEC sports talk. More money for each SEC member and more coverage. Every person in the U.S. will have access to it in their area. I just don't see any negatives about it.

I didn't say it was negative. But when the idea came up, it wasn't brought to the table because fans would like it.

I was just responding to the being all about the money part you stated, which it is. We_Need_Cam was saying he didn't see anything positive about the new Network. I see it as the exact opposite. I am quite certain it will be my favorite sports channel of the bookoo of sports channels I already get.
ETA....and it will generate millions upon millions for each member school every year.

Where the hell is comcast offered? Seriously

If you are being serious...Comcast is in 40 states and is the #1 cable provider, as far as households, in the U.S..

I just read something that said its part of the digital starter package (if you're in a SEC state) which would mean if you have the basic Comcast package then you get the SEC Network.
I just went and looked on the Comcast site forum. This is what their MOD posted........
quote:
Earlier this afternoon a deal was signed to distribute SEC Network. The majority of our cable systems will begin rolling out SEC Network in August to both SD and HD customers.
The systems in the states of Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Florida that will offer this channel will have SEC Network on the Digital Starter package and systems launching in any other state will offer SEC Network as part of the Digital Preferred package.

Charter sucks.

I have learned to take what the phone reps tell me with a grain of salt. Three different reps lied to me, when I upgraded to the triple play, on the same phone call. I am just glad people won't have to pay an extra fee to get it. I would definitely do it if I had to, but I am giving them more than 2 bones a month now.
Posted on 7/19/14 at 10:46 am to MrAUTigers
Yeah their customer service sucks. It usually takes at least 5 phone calls to get what you want out of them.

The SEC Network games will be the ones that were either JP Sports Network or the ones that were farmed out to channels like Fox Sports Net, SportSouth, or maybe ESPNU. Outside of ESPNU, the regional networks are available only in the footprint, so there won't be much of a change in visibility, except for an increase in non-football sports/programming.

I am also wondering if a lot of the coaches' shows will migrate over, as opposed to some being on this channel and others being on another.

Good point. I don't get to see Gus' show here. I also wonder if they will keep doing Every Day. (or whatever the weekly Auburn show was called) I could only watch it on CSS and they have done away with the CSS out of Atlanta.
ETA: I did hear them say at Media Days that the SECN will be showing replays of games during the week. CSS always showed a two hour condensed version of the game on Sunday night. I enjoyed watching the replays. During games my butthole is so tight I can't enjoy the game. When I already know the outcome, I can relax and catch things I missed live.

Sec network is going to blow. At this point i don't want it. Plenty of places i can watch the games without paying extra to see Finebaum's ugly face.
Posted on 7/20/14 at 11:45 am to CaptainBrannigan
From what the MOD said on the Comcast board.... Comcast customers, who are in States with SEC schools, will not have to pay extra for it.

Sweet. I hope nobody will have to switch whatever carrier they use. It's just a pain in the butt.
