On a road trip, will be near Auburn at lunchtime. Any suggestions on a good place for a quick, inexpensive lunch?

You could go to the original Mama G's or depending on what you consider inexpensive, The Hound.

Try to use Urbanspoon....my fav spot when I was there for something cheap and easy was Little Italy..if you want a slice of pizza and beer. This is downtown Auburn. It depends where you are going to be.

Bbq house. Get a slice of pb pie after you eat and thank me later.

If you don't like bbq, niffers might be a good choice.

Nothing is really expensive in Auburn for lunch.

Assuming 10-15 bucks is cheap enough, Hamiltons.

Little Italy is a great lunch spot too. Cheap but good pizza by the slice and cheap pitchers.

A suggestion you probably won't hear, but is really good is Naruto Cafe. Japanese/Thai food. Chicken & rice bowl is the shite.

Mama Goldbergs is garbage. It didn't last 6 months in Baton Rouge.

Id hit up Byron's for some BBQ.

Lots of places are cheap in Auburn - the meat is picked up fresh from the roadside daily. ;)

none of those places are far from the interstate.

If you want soul food, Pannie George's is right by the interstate.

Not sure whats it called, but right off the Auburn exit there is a place that does pretty decent southern cooking, piccadilly style.
