I don't think we (LSU) will be a contender this year. LSU will win the NC in 2015 though.

Bama is the only contended and they have a huge unknown at QB.
USC and UGA has no business in the conversation and Auburn will have a typical let down year following a miracle one.

I think what CNB is getting is that all things considered there is no reason why SC shouldn't be considered any more or less a legit national title contender than some of the other schools you listed, but we're put in the "maybe" section because our name is South Carolina and not LSU or UGA. Of course by doing so you'd be completely ignoring the countless "Never done befores" we've knocked off our list since Spurrier got here.
Couldn't win @UT, couldn't beat UF at all, couldn't beat a #1 ranked team, could never win the East. etc. etc. etc.

I don't have anything against the Cocks -- they're in same general range as we are, historically-speaking -- so my question isn't why people think they're not a legitimate title contender, but why USCe fans think they are. That's a much more interesting line of discussion, really. I'm personally not seeing it, but, then, I haven't heard the arguments for it. I'm not asking why fans think they'll be good -- most of us agree they'll be good -- but why they could be NC contenders.
