Willie Nelson was there. Notables I can think of during my college time were Bassnectar, Florida-Georgia Line, WIllie Nelson, STS9. String Cheese Incident came this year. There was a pretty regular showing of good acts.

Athens runs away with this.

Nashville can't be included.

The Lyric in Oxford blows. Proud Larry's is awesome though. Blue Mountain at Larry's on LSU weekend was the best show in Oxford every other year. The Blind Pig is underrated.

When I was at Ole Miss, (08-12) I saw Bassnectar 2x, Pretty Lights 4x, STS9 2x, Big Gigantic 2x, Passion Pit, Conspirator, MGMT, Yonder, Robert Randolph, Moe., Portugal the Man, Lumineers etc. Trippin or Rolling at 80% of those shows. Nothing comes close to the atmosphere at Bassnectar. EVERYONE was rolling. I miss college.

We honestly dont have one. Ricks gets decent acts but it sucks as a bar, much less a music venue

If the new owners of the old state theatre bar are worth a shite, that will change really quickly.

For LSU, I would say it has to be The Varsity

It has had some big names over the years. I have been to see Edwin McCain, Corey Smith and I witnessed Marc Broussard bring down the house.

Dave Matthews played it along with WSP and I think WIllie Nelson has been there too. Small atmosphere compared to some of the places listed already, but its a great place for a show.
